            The aim of teaching English Language is to provide a better educational
opportunity and a meaningful interaction with other cultures. Language learning is
learning to communicate, express your self and interact with others to gain information
and to learn about the world around you.
            As a distinguished school the curriculum of English in ELQUDS LANGUAGE
SCHOOL attempts to turn all these objectives into a working curriculum that is in line with the current theories and research findings and with the recent trends in foreign
language curriculum design and teaching methodology.
            Students following this curriculum will learn content-related information while
acquiring English language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Language
skills are interdependent that is why you cannot use one of them alone.

           Junior One
          Macmillan : Language and Activity Book 1
          Comprehension : Active Reading and Writing
          Listening :Hear Here (Kept at school )
          Readers : Different stories (Kept at school until finishing it )
          Spelling Booklet to secure automatic spelling skills and progress
          Vocabulary Lists: It is based on the writing topics to enrich their vocabulary
          Grammar Items
          Copybooks
          Library lesson so that the students read and to encourage students to borrow
stories from the library

          What the student should know
          Spelling and Vocabulary lists which they are tested in and should use them in
writing.
          Grammar items which are written in their copybooks and in the sheets.
          The English Exam includes
          Comprehension : Unseen passage with words with they can read and understand
          Structure :Different grammar items
          Spelling : Pictures and they right the words , matching , ----------
          Writing : A topic from the topics given before in class.
We hope that the parents co-operate with the school by insisting that the students speak English
even at home and with their friends.

          Comprehension : School Objects I
          Listening : ( Kept at school )
          Readers :

Pleases note that grammar items are cumulative that means there is a revision every year

opinion.

           Policy for the upper Juniors , Middles and Seniors departments
          Outline of the course
          • The course uses an integrated approach to all four language skills ( reading , listening ,
             speaking and writing ) in a carefully graded and well – organized , user- friendly
             syllabus combining functions, structures , vocabulary , punctuation and communication
             skills. A building – block strategy has been employed through which every lexical and
             grammatical item is carefully presented and systematically revised enabling students to
             meaningful contexts communicative language teaching is viewed as a practical activity
             rather than a theoretical motion
          • The course aims to achieving the following goals :
             - Communicative : to help students establish relations, exchange information and
               express ideas attitudes and feelings.
             - Language and cultural awareness : to help student to acquire an understanding of
               the language and culture .

          All in all , our objective is to build the learners' ability to communicate their ideas
          fluently , accurately and confidently

          Outlines of Supplementary Materials
          Grammar away :
          The aim of the book is to present grammar structure by means of visual prompts and
          give simple , concise explanation .
             - The book can be used for further self study .
             Penguin Readers :
             They are simplified text with audio CDs which provide a step – by – step
             approach to the joys of reading for pleasure.
          Oxford Dictionary :
             - It helps students learn more words- and how to use them
             - It is used in class to build students vocabulary .
             - It can be used during self – study .
